Welcome to the world, Baby Dallin!!!

On the left is me about two weeks before Dallin was born. I was huge!!!
And above is Dallin "Jett" Jones one day old. He was born on May 5, 2006. 8 lbs 13 oz, 21 inches long -- a very big boy!! Most people have already heard the birth story, but I am going to write it again just in case. My water broke at 12:30 am. We called my midwife and she told us that when my contractions are 5 minutes apart, we should get in the car and start heading to the birth center. I was very excited, but since my contractions just started we decided to go back to bed. I laid in bed for an hour, too nervous and excited to sleep. I got Randy up and we started to time contractions. My contractions we very sporadic -- jumping all over the place and some were not even lasting very long. I started to have really bad back labor and some of my contractions were starting to be pretty strong, but they were still sporadic and some lasted less than 30 seconds. We called the midwife and she suggested that we come in even though my contractions were not textbook five minutes apart. I stood up to go to the van and my water broke the rest of the way. I felt the baby drop into place and I started to get worried. By the time I reached the top of my stairs, I wasn't sure if I could manage to get down the stairs. Then, all of a sudden, I felt an urge to push. Randy helped me down the stairs. He was still convinced we were going to make it to the birth center. I got down stairs and I knew we were not going anywhere. Randy called 911 and mom laid me down on our area rug in our TV room. Luckily, the paramedic were there in two minutes, but unfortunate the head was already out by the time they got to our house. We were very blessed that the paramedic came so fast because the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck. They were able to deliver him safely at 3:43 am and with a little oxygen he pinked up pretty fast. Then, mom and baby got an ambulance ride to the hospital. We are now both doing very well and he has already gained weight (9 lbs 1 oz ). Randy and I joked around about naming him Jett before he was born and afterwards we thought it would be an appropriate middle name, maybe even a nickname.
